From Idea to Design: How I Make Mattify’s Products
Share
Hey everyone! One of the most common questions I get is:
“How do you come up with your designs for Mattify?”
The answer? I don’t sketch or draw things out ahead of time. I just go with the flow—and that’s part of the fun!
💡 Step 1: Random Inspiration
Sometimes it’s a funny moment, a chill mood, or a capybara meme that sparks an idea. I’ll be drinking boba or playing with my pets when suddenly I think, “That would be a great shirt!” So I hop onto Printify and start creating.
🖥️ Step 2: Playing With Design Tools
I use tools like Canva or Printify’s built-in editor to mix graphics, text, and layout ideas. I try different combinations until something just feels right.
No sketches, no rules—just freestyle creativity.
👕 Step 3: Picking the Perfect Product
Once the design is ready, I choose what it goes on:
A shirt? A mug? A cozy pillow?
I look for items that feel fun, useful, and gift-worthy. Then I upload it to my store at Mattify.store.
🧠 Why I Love “Designing Without a Plan”
I don’t need to be an artist with a sketchbook. I just need ideas and the right tools. This style helps me stay fast, flexible, and super creative. Every product I make is a little surprise—even to me.
If you’re someone who wants to start a brand or sell designs but can’t draw, don’t worry—you totally can. Just start with an idea, explore what’s possible, and go with the flow.
Stay creative,
Matt
